Everyone has joined their efforts in the Rivne region in the framework of the “Greening of the planet” project: government, business and the public. In fact, that is why we have managed to show a result, exceeding all expectations.

293,018 trees have been planted in the region with the support from the foresters! And the process of planting trees is still ongoing! People are happy and grateful for such an initiative and the opportunity to contribute to the joint success history of people around the world!

Locations where trees were planted: Shevchenko Park, Khimik Park, Ostvytsia settlement, “Na Shchaslyvomu” residential complex, all hromadas, large cities and small villages.

“People are just incredible, we didn’t even expect such activity. Everyone worked together: the government was providing assistance, the business was funding us, adults were planting and children were having fun. April 10 was wonderful a wonderful day! This is just the beginning of our great joint success history!”, said Iryna Tesliuk, a member of the supervisory board of «Rivne People’s Club Veres» PJSC, a co-organizer of the Greening of the Planet project.

Project coordinator Kateryna Yevushko added: “We live in an period of rapid technological progress. Currently, ecology is a way of life and a way of thinking. When it comes to ecology, it’s not about changing our lives, but about saving them! This is the real purpose of the “Greening of the Planet” project. I am glad to be a part of a new era of conscious people.”

The Turkish public organization “Black Sea Association of Ukrainians” has joined the global environmental project “Greening of the Planet
 and has contributed to the restoration of the planet’s ecosystem.

On April 10, the Head of the Consular Section of Ukrainian Embassy in the Republic of Turkey – Andriy Bilyk and Lyudmila Shymko, chairman and ideological leader of the public organization “Black Sea Association of Ukrainians” took part in the action that took place in the large park of Samsun city – “Alanlı Mesire Yeri”, which was designated for picnics and promenades. The event was held with the support from the representatives of the Ukrainian community, along with the mayor of Samsun, Orman İşletme Müdürlüğü Menderes Özkolay and the representatives of Samsun forestry, the TEMA VAKFI Leman GÜRSES Foundation, the mayor of the Atacum district, Cemil Deveci, and the deputy Şeref Aydın, as well as Turkish and Ukrainian media. Together, they have planted such trees as linden and Judas tree with a total number of 50.

Sir Consul, Andriy Bilyk, noted that the Ukrainian community is planning to plant viburnum!

The alley, dedicated to the freedom was set in the park near Georgy Gongadze’s monument in Kyiv as part of the global environmental project “Greening of the Planet”.

The initiators of this Alley are the “Greening of Ukraine” charitable foundation and the Ukrainian Pravda online edition.

Participants in the launch of the Alley were: the initiators of the landscaping project – Serhii Haidaichuk, president of the business club “CEO Club Ukraine” and Hanna Krysiuk, president of the international women’s business club “Business Woman Club”; Sevgil Musayeva, editor-in-chief of Ukrainian Pravda; Alex Lenaerts, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belgium to Ukraine; Oleksandr Kharchenko, General Director of Ukrinform Agency; Iryna Asman, Chairman of the Board of Directors of PJSC “Cartel”, journalists and other representatives of news agencies.

Hanna Krysiuk, co-founder of the “Greening of Ukraine” Charitable Foundation, said: “Today we are planting maples and sakura trees. The maple is a cult tree, a talisman, a symbol of prosperity, order, unity, peace and comfort, permanence, kindness and masculinity, and sakura is a traditional symbol of femininity and beauty. We have planted the male and female trees together, because male mind and female perseverance work miracles. “

At the same time, Greening of the Planet project is considered to be the essence of people’s unification in the willingness of positive changes for the preservation of our future. On April 10, the environmental action “1 million trees for 1 day in 100 countries of the world” was held throughout Ukraine and in 103 countries worldwide within the framework of the global environmental project “Greening of the Planet”. The results of the Promotion will be announced on April 22.

The scope of Greening of the Planet project is to draw attention to the problems of global warming and the restoration of the planet’s ecosystem, to form a positive international image of Ukraine through a joint history of success and unification of people around the world.

The project is organized by the Ukrainian Charitable Foundation “Greening of Ukraine”. With the support of the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of Ukraine, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine and the State Agency of Forest Resources of Ukraine.

The Embassy of Ukraine in the Republic of Bulgaria took part in the global environmental project “Greening the Planet”. Ambassador V. Moskalenko, Chairman of the Ukrainian organizations association in Bulgaria O. Kotseva, children of the Ukrainian Club in Sofia and employees of the Embassy joined the initiative.

The participants of the event share the same purpose to draw attention to the issues of global warming and restoration of planet’s ecosystem. Under this project, participants have made a modest contribution to the restoration of the ecosystem and the preservation of environment – they have planted trees on the territory of the embassy. As the event was is designed to young Ukrainians, much attention was paid to teach children to respect the nature. The participants have stressed that it is extremely important to appreciate and preserve the green treasure of our planet. Everyone has put their blood and sweat into a common cause so that the whole world can benefit.

“Global climate change is one of the most menacing environmental problems of the present. In order to stop this phenomenon and restore the ecosystem, we must act vigorously. Environmental awareness and the desire to improve the global environmental situation are very important, because we do not just contribute to the nature, we also help ourselves. Trees clean the air, mitigate the climate change, and promote biodiversity. Every tree is a contribution to the future of our next generations and our planet. We are sincerely glad to join the project “Greening the planet”. We have to be aware of the ecological future,”said Alina Belikova, Third Secretary of Ukrainian Embassy in the Republic of Bulgaria and a co-organizer of the project in Bulgaria.

Through the coordinated work, 7 trees were planted – 5 fruit trees and 2 coniferous trees. The participation in the project has become a sign of concern for the ecology and the environment.

The best thing we can do for people is to take care of them and support them as they grow. The best thing we can do for an idea is to implement it and continue to scale it later. One such idea is ​​”Greening of Ukraine” project, which has united all Ukrainians for a single purpose last year – to enrich our country through joint efforts and plant one million trees in one day.

The action “Greening the planet” was held on a large scale in the Zakarpattia region. Every part of the region was involved in planting trees in forests, communities and educational institutions, which were committed the most. In particular, 352 educational institutions, 37 kindergartens and educational complexes, as well as 13 out-of-school institutions planted more than 3,000 trees: maples, lindens, spruces, pines, walnut trees, beeches, oaks (in forests), hazels, fruit trees and shrubs.

The project coordinator in the Zakarpattia region is Hanna Meleganych, Associate Professor of the Faculty of History and International Relations, Director of the Center for Sustainable Development of Uzhhorod National University, Chairman of the “Megasocium” organization.

We are grateful to the volunteers and patrons, who had managed to purchase 97 fruit trees for 24 family-type orphanages.

The successful outcome of this action is also confirmed by the children’s drawing contest on the “Tree planting” topic, As the organizing committee received more than 2,000 drawings from children in kindergartens and schools in the region. Thus, even if these children did not plant any trees, they had the opportunity to reflect upon the essence and purposes of this project.

25 condominiums of Uzhhorod city have taken part and planted almost 400 trees in their neighborhoods,while volunteers haveplanted the longest stripe of limes in Europe along the coast of Uzh River.

The Keretsk community of Khust district has decided to restore the tourist location and start a green zone at the geographical center of Zakarpattia region.

People have planted numerous trees at Shevchenkivska alley in the Nizhne Solotvyno village of Uzhhorod city district, which has reunited many artists of Zakarpattia region.

The organizing committee of Zakarpattia region consisted entirely of women, who had significant experience in the public sector within their areas of competence. Every large-scale project brings together the participants, but it can also separate them. If we talk about the main team “Greening of Zakarpattia region “, it has achieved an additional and important outcome – a new women’s initiative “Our move” was established. The society always had numerous demands, that were frequently falling upon the women. In order to find an answer: who is responsible for the activities, the answer will be pretty simple. “Our move” is a union of girls and women of different ages who understand exactly that unity is the strength, especially if it is based on common values.

Anna Sabadosh, responsible for cooperation with partners in the regional organizing committee, said the following: “I support the greening movement, because I understand how exhausted our planet is: both globally and within the country. We want to draw people’s attention to the environmental situation of air pollution, deforestation, floods and landslides, and would like show how coming together for a common purpose can create a joint success story in the country and a positive international image. After all, the Greening of the Planet project is not just about planting trees and not taking care it, it is about maintaining the plantations, joint actions and support. People should set good examples, debunk the stereotype that everything about our country is bad and life will never change for the better, especially in the field of ecology and nature conservation. They say that in order to achieve grand scopes, you have to move gradually, in our case we are vigorously moving towards the positive changes together! ”

Svitlana Samoilyuk, coordinator of the action in Mukachevo said: “We always leave a trace on the Earth and it only depends on us, how it will look like. Our planet has always worried about us. Now is the time for us to take care of it, to cherish it and appreciate it. This is exactly what the citizens of Mukachevo did by actively joining the international project Greening of the Planet. “

We always rely on the UN Sustainable Development Goals, in particular on article №17 – Partnership for Sustainable Development, and it is not the first time we are convinced of the importance of its observance in each sphere of life.

Consul of Ukraine in Antalya, Emir Rustamov, said : “We plant trees along with the Ukrainian diaspora in Antalya – we are engaged in greening of the planet – and we encourage everyone to join us!”

“We are pleased to respond to your invitation and we are glad to join this action,” said the mayor of Bakirkoy district in Istanbul, Mr. Bulent Kerimoglu.

On March 8, 2021, the Consulate of Ukraine in Antalya, represented by Consul Emir Rustamov, the Black Sea Association of Ukrainians of Samsun (Karadeniz Ukraynalılar Derneği), the Association of Ukrainians of Izmir and the folk choir joined the planting event, as well as “Berehynia” (Ukrainian Saturday school), “Ukrainian family” organization,“Namysto” band of Alanya. The project also received support from the Antalya Forestry Administration, headed by Mr. Vedat Dikici. 100 red pine seedlings were planted. Several trees were also planted in the Park of Ukrainian Culture of the city of Antalya, during the event dedicated to the 207th anniversary of the birth of Taras Shevchenko, as part of the “Greening the planet” project in honor of this memorable day. The saplings were provided by the Mayor of the Muratpaşa District of Antalya to Mr. Ümit Uysal

The city of Samsun joined the project on March 20, 2021. The event was supported by the Embassy of Ukraine in Turkey, by Consul Andriy Bilyk, “Black Sea Association of Ukrainians” organization in Samsun (Karadeniz Ukraynalılar Derneği), led by the head of the community, Lyudmila Shymko. The participants were grateful to receive the trees from Samsun Forestry Department and Mr. Mendres Özkolay, they also appreciate the support, provided by the Mayor of the Atakum District (T.C. Atakum Belediyesi,) Mr. Cemil Deveci.

The Embassy of Ukraine in Turkey joined the global environmental project in Ankara on April 6, 2021. The action took place in the park on Ukrainska Street. Participants: Ambassador of Ukraine to Turkey Andriy Sibiga and his wife Tatiana Sibiga, Embassy staff, representatives of the Ukrainian and Crimean Tatar communities, Head of the Foreign Affaires Directorate of the Cankaya City Hall, Ali Haydar Sonbay, the Ukrainians and the Turks. A total of 7 trees and 3 bushes were planted. From now on, the park will be decorated with trees that have a symbolic meaning for the Ukrainian and Crimean Tatar peoples – viburnum, willow, oak, lilac, chestnut tree, spruce, juniper.

The employees of the Consulate General of Ukraine in Istanbul, led by Consul General, Oleksandr Haman, and Mr. Bülent Kerimoğlu, Mayor of Istanbul’s Bakirköy District, joined the planting as part of the project. 3 trees were planted in the park of the Bakirky district – linden, sycamore and Judas tree. During the conversation, Alexander Haman and Bulent Kerimoglu noted the importance of such projects for the preservation of planet’s ecology. “We are pleased to respond to your invitation and we are glad join this action,” said Mayor Bakirkyoya.

The Association of Ukrainians of Izmir joined the action On April 9, 2021. The community commended Mr. Uğur Semih Akdemir, an honorary member of the association for coordination, management, and transportation, and Mr. Mehmet Chapraz, Head of the Gaziemir Forestry District, for the provided seedlings, staff, and tour of the fire watchtower.

On April 12, 2021, we had the opportunity to plant a forest in Antalya! Dozens of saplings were planted with the support of the head of the Antalya forestry department, Mr. Vedat Dikici, with the participation of the Ukrainian consul in Antalya, Mr. Emir Rustamov, the head of the Ukrainian Family organization, Vita Mykhailova, and concerned Ukrainians. Forestry workers prepared the site, soil and equipment in advance, while the participants planted trees themselves. There were even families with children. The kids worked hard. They helped us to water the seedlings and to pour the soil. During the action, the head of the “Ukrainian Family” association, Vita Mykhailova, commended Mr. Vedat Dikiji and Mr. Emir Rustamov for their participation in the implementation of the “Greening the Planet” project in Turkey. Vedat Dikiji reported that a total of 1,600 seedlings were planted on the site, including 1,200 pistachio pines, 300 carob trees and 100 laurels. The community planted 150 trees.

On April 15, 2021, the community gathered in the Park of Ukrainian Culture in Antalya and planted 5 more trees: oak, Crimean cypress, willow, viburnum, lilac as symbols of the native land. The event was attended by the Ambassador of Ukraine to Turkey Andriy Sibiga and his wife, Tatiana Sibiga, Consul of Ukraine in Antalya Emir Rustamov, Consular Agent Serhiy Kayan, Head of the Ukrainian Family Community, Vita Mykhailova, Chairman of the «Mediterranean Association of Ukrainians», Natalia Karadja, Head of the «Ukrainian Society Culture and Arts» organization and “Berehynia ” choir, Olesya Merdzhan, Ukrainian athletes who were at a city’s training camp, led by Valery Lebedyuk, and concerned Ukrainians. The action commenced with the performance of the Ukrainian anthem, launched via QR code, embroidered by Tetyana Protcheva (head of the “Glow art” workshop). The ambassador noted that this is a symbolic “rooting” of Ukrainians on Turkish soil, after the opening of the Park of Ukrainian Culture and the establishment of the first and only bas-relief in Turkey of Taras Shevchenko. The community commended the Embassy of Ukraine in Turkey and the Ambassador, Andriy Sibiza for his permission to plant trees in the Muratpash district of Antalya, as well as Mr. Ümit Uysal, for the provision seedlings, raised on the Ukrainian soil. During the meeting, Vita Mikhailova, expressed her gratitude to Andriy Ivanovich Sibiza for participation in the project “Greening the Planet” and  awarded him the Order of International Cooperation.

On April 10, the sun high in the sky and the weather of Cherkasy region was favorable for the implementation of the Greening of the planet’s iniviative “1 million trees in 1 day in 100 countries.” All participants were in high spirits, and we did the planting in one breath.

“Trees give us oxygen, protect us in circumstances of bad weather, serve as a shelter from the summer heat. They have witnessed glorious feats and defeats that connect the past with the present and the future. Sometimes it seems like they want to talk to us and to protect us, but we don’t understand their language anymore. Nature is our home that needs to be taken care of, protected, cleaned and decorated. Just as an artist paints his masterpieces in oil on canvas, so we can paint our planet with bright colors, create a piece of paradise on Earth,” said Natalia Shcherbinina, co-organizer of the event in Cherkasy region.

“Trees are the continuation of life, energy, a legacy for our descendants. Without trees, our planet will be dreadful and deserted. So let’s plant trees and take care of them,” noted Valeria Bondarenko, the wife of the mayor of Cherkasy.

As for “Parks Directorate” utility company, planting new trees is a common, nevertheless, important thing. No matter how – as part of promotions, projects or daily work – we always try to restore the greenery.

Planting a tree is a small but significant step towards eco-consciousness, culture and human development. For us, as a company that protects, creates and develops green spaces within the city, it is a pleasure to unite people for this purpose!

Trees are the lungs of our planet, they produce oxygen, neutralize harmful emissions, conserve water resources, influence the formation of the planet’s climate, maintain soil fertility and protect it from erosion.

Therefore, it is our duty and a necessity to replenishing the of greener, ”said Andrii Kucha, project partner and a director of the “Parks Directorate”.

“As for me, planting trees means communicating with the source of life, to which we humans owe a lot. It is necessary to compensate the Earth for the harm, caused by our previous generations took away, which is almost catastrophic. It is very pleasant to plant trees, but what is more amazing, is seeing the gardens and the forests grows along with the planted trees,” said the project partner, Mykhailo Shcherbinin, the owner of the “Ukraina” Hotel in Cherkasy.

Trees and saplings were planted in 326 locations of Cherkasy region: 285 locations, where the residents of multistory building  have are planted sakura trees individually on adjacent territories. At the same time, the planting took place on the territory of 12 forestries: Dakhnivske, Katerynopilske, Khlypnivske, Kozachanske , Sofiyivske, Yasnozirske, Steblivske, Smilyanske, Synytske, Chyhyrynske. Trees were planted on the territories of schools, hospitals, and higher educational institutions in Cherkasy. The plantings were also located in parks, such as: “Sportivnyi”, “Sosnovyi Bir”, “Peremogy”, sanatorium “Ruska Polyana”. The city council’s ecology department has created several alleys in Cherkasy, including the Walk of Fame in honor of soldiers, who died in service in the ATO zone, which consists of 20 red 8-year-old maples and 1 twelve-year-old plane tree. A total of 1,071 people took part in the action at various locations.
